TC Volleyball falls in four to Collin in annual Pink Out Game

The Temple College Leopards Volleyball started their second half of their North Texas Junior College Athletic Conference schedule on Saturday afternoon as they hosted Collin County Community College for the Leopards' annual Pink Out Game.

Temple jumped out to a great start in the match, having taken the opening set. However, the Cougars outlasted the Leopards over the next three games to win the match, 3-1.

Scores of the match were 21-25, 25-22, 25-16, and 25-22.

Collin (8-14 overall, 4-6 NTJCAC) leapt out to a 5-1 lead in game one before the Leopards used a 9-5 stretch to tie the game at 10-10.

The Cougars countered with a 6-2 run before Temple put together a 10-4 string to close out game one. Hanna Ward and Hannah Block each had an ace down the final stretch.

Temple (7-16 overall, 1-9 NTJCAC) and Collin played evenly in game two, with neither team not holding more than a three-point advantage. The Cougars finished the second game with an 8-4 stretch to even the match at a game apiece.

Collin led from start to finish in game three, as they led Temple 6-1 in the early stages of the game, and extended the lead out to 10 points late. The Cougars eventually closed out the game by nine points and took a commanding 2-1 lead in the match.

In the fourth game, the Leopards and Cougars played evenly, again, noy holding more than a three-point up to the midpoint of the set. However, with Leopards holding 19-16 lead, Collin mounted a 9-3 finish to take game four, and won the match overall.

Temple College will host Cisco College on Kirby Johnson Court Wednesday at 6 pm.
