The Temple College Leopards women's basketball team looked to get back to winning ways in the North Texas Junior College Athletic standings as they hosted the Grayson College Vikings at Kirby Johnson Court.

The Leopards' seven-point halftime lead was engulfed by a Vikings' 29-8 run in the third quarter as Grayson held on for a nine-point win, 72-63.

Both teams held an early lead before the Leopards emerged from the first quarter with a 14-11 lead.

Temple outscored Grayson in the second quarter 20-16, as the Leopards had a three-possession lead at halftime, 34-27.

The Vikings adjusted at halftime and turned on pressure that forced TC into ill-timed shots that Grayson turned into baskets. At the end of the third period, the Vikings led by 14, 56-42.

Temple could only make five points of ground having outscored the Vikings 21-16 in the fourth quarter.

Grayson (11-5, 2-0 NTJCAC) converted 11-of 16 from the free-throw line and had nine three-pointers.

Kayla Jones led all scorers with 29 points. Madison Carter added 17 points for the Vikings.

Temple (11-6, 1-2 NTJCAC) converted 12-of-19 from the charity stripe and hit nine three-pointers.

Mychal White had 17 points to lead the Leopards. Jaylice Rosario added 15 points and Imani McCray added 13.

The Leopards will travel to Hillsboro on Saturday for a 2 pm matchup against the Hill College Rebels.
