No. 4 Temple College (Region V, 53-6, 30-2 NTJCAC, first place, Won 14 straight, 28-1 home, 19-5 road, 6-0 neutral) drew a first-day bye.

The College of Southern Idaho Golden Eagles (42-11, 27-5 Scenic West Athletic Conference, tied first place with Salt Lake Community College, Won 19 straight, 17-2 home, 22-7 away, 2-2 neutral) defeated Dodge City Community College 4-3.
