Temple College Athletics and the Temple College Softball will host the upcoming NJCAA Southwest District B Tournament this Wednesday through Friday at the Danny Scott Sports Complex.
The tournament is double-elimination with the winner earning an automatic bid to the 2026 National Junior College Athletic Association Division I Tournament, being held May 24-30 in Oxford, Alabama.
Tickets for the tournament can be purchased at the gate. Daily tickets are $10 and tournament passes are $25. Concessions are available on site and tournament t-shirts are also available for purchase.
Tournament games will be broadcasted on CenTex Sports Network (http://www.centexsportsnetwork.com).
The field is comprised of four teams: Temple College, Midland College, Grayson College and Frank Phillips College.
Temple, the North Texas Junior College Athletic Conference champion and No. 4 ranked team in the final NJCAA Division Top 25 poll, finished 30-2 in conference action and 50-6 overall, Region V's lone 50-win team.
Midland, the Western Junior College Athletic Conference runner-up, finished with a conference mark of 20-4, and an overall record of 42-8. The Chaparrals and Odessa, the top seed in the Southwest District A Tournament, were the two WJCAC teams who surpassed the 40-win mark this season.
Grayson, the third-place finisher from the NTJCAC and No. 9 ranked in the final NJCAA Top 25 poll, finished with a conference record of 24-8 and overall record of 45-10. The Vikings were one of three teams in the NTJCAC with 40-plus wins (TC, GC, MCC) on the season.
Frank Phillips, the fourth-place finisher in the WJCAC, finished with a conference mark of 10-14 and an overall record of 23-33.
The tournament will begin on Wednesday, with Temple taking on Frank Phillips at noon, followed by a 2:30 pm session between Grayson and Midland.
The winners of the two games will play each other on Thursday at 10 a.m., while the losers of the first two games will be in an elimination game on Thursday at 12:30 pm.
The Southwest B District Championship game is slated for noon on Friday.
