The Temple College Leopards' quest of a North Texas Junior College Athletic Conference title continues on Tuesday at they host Vernon College in doubleheader play at the Danny Scott Sports Complex.
First pitch is at 12 pm, with game two to follow 30 minutes following the completion of game one.
No. 4 Temple (46-6 overall, 26-2 NTJCAC) holds a two-game lead over No. 8 McLennan Community College following a four-game sweep over No. 20 Weatherford College last week. The Leopards downed the Coyotes by scores of 13-0 (five innings), 7-3, 8-0 (five innings), and 4-1.
Vernon (28-22 overall, 14-14 NTJCAC) swept North Central Texas College last week, winning by scores of 6-5, 3-2, 4-2, and 6-1.
In 2025, Temple took three of four games from Vernon. They swept the Chaparrals in at Vernon, 13-0 and 5-3. They split the twin-bill in Temple, winning 6-4 before the Chaparrals won the final game of the series, 3-1.
Temple is hitting .395 with a .462 on-base percentage, have hit 51 homers, 400 RBI, scored 448 runs, and have a team earned run average of 2.20 through 52 contests.
Vernon is hitting .291 with a .345 on-base percentage, have hit 15 homers, 199 RBI, scored 235 runs, and have a team earned run average of 3.93 through 50 contests.
The teams will complete their regular seasons on Saturday with a doubleheader at Vernon College.
