No. 14 TC Softball hosts Coastal Bend College on Wednesday

The Temple College softball team will play their next-to-last non-conference home doubleheader on Wednesday in a midday clash against Coastal Bend College.

The doubleheader is slated for 11 am and 1 pm.

Temple (18-4) has won six straight games and ten of their last 11. During the six-game win streak, the Leopards have had four consecutive shutouts and held Paris Junior College to six runs in two games, with the Dragons having averaged 9.2 runs per game this season.

The Leopards are batting .378 and have an on-base percentage of .441 through 22 games while averaging 7.9 runs and 10.1 hits per contest.

Lexi Dudeczka is tied for seventh in the NJCAA with 34 hits and is 34th nationally with 25 runs scored. Reese Cottrell is in the top 50 in hits, tied for 35th with 29 and tied for 34th with 26 RBI. Jasmine Benavidez also has 27 hits and 24 RBI for the Leopards in 2026.

Temple's 2.65 earned run average is stellar with the nature of competition that the Leopards have faced so far this season. Izzy Garcia's 69 strikeouts in the circle is currently fifth in the nation, has started 11 games (tied for second), and her eight wins tied for eighth nationally.

Coastal Bend (2-8) are batting .323 and have an on-base percentage of .388 in 2026. They average 4.4 runs and 8.7 hits per game this season. Carmen Perez (.500 BA, .548 OBP, four RBI, five stolen bases), Brianna Salazar (.455 BA, .500 OBP, three RBI, five stolen bases) and Shelby Hovda (.375 BA, .444 OBP, three HR, six RBI) are the Cougars' chief producers.

The Cougars staff earned run average is 6.97 with 56 earned runs allowed on 106 hits, 27 strikeouts and 25 walks, with the workload divided between Kadence Trevino, Kristen Morales, Rylee Puente, and Lacie Perez.

The doubleheader in the middle of a six-game week that will conclude at No. 11 Galveston College on Saturday.
