With the postponement of the Tyler Junior College doubleheader slated on Monday, the Temple College Softball team will host Western Texas College on Tuesday afternoon in doubleheader play at the Danny Scott Sports Complex.

First pitch for game one is 1 pm, with game two to begin 30 minutes after the completion of game one.

The Leopards (14-4 overall, 7-1 home) are coming off an impressive doubleheader sweep of Odessa College last Friday, by scores of 3-0 and 5-0.

The combination of Dalanee Ekster and Izzy Garcia allotted just five Wrangler hits over 14 innings and received stellar play from their teammates offensively and defensively.

The Westerners (10-6 overall, 2-4 away) are coming off a weekend where they swept San Jacinto College – South (18-0, 15-7) on Friday and split with Hill College (lost 2-1, won 4-3) Saturday, with all four games played in Snyder.

Through 18 games, Temple is hitting .382 with an on-base percentage of .446. The Leopards have scored 132 runs on 168 hits, drilled 33 doubles, five triples, 15 home runs, 116 runs batted in, have drawn 18 walks, 11 sacrifice flies, and stolen 65 bases.

Temple's staff earned run average is 3.25. Through 101 1/3 innings, the Leopards have allowed 59 runs (47 earned) on 84 hits, struck out 102, walked 34, and hit seven batters. Opposition is hitting .215.

Temple's defense is sturdy and steady, with a .967 fielding percentage, having only committed 13 errors in 389 chances. That has led to just 12 unearned allowed.

Through 16 games, the Westerners are hitting .249 with an on-base percentage of .342. WTC has scored 67 runs on 77 hits, 16 doubles, four triples, eight home runs, 59 RBI, 33 walks, and been hit 11 times.

The Westerners staff ERA is 4.11, has allowed 76 runs (44 earned) on 105 hits, struck out 37, and walked 33.

WTC has a fielding percentage of .905 and has 23 errors in 242 total chances, which has led Westerners to allot 32 unearned runs this season.
