Seven Leopards named to NTJCAC All-Conference teams

Seven Leopards named to NTJCAC All-Conference teams

The North Texas Junior College Athletic Conference announced their Men's Basketball All-Conference teams on Saturday.

The Temple College Leopards were well represented on the list, with wing Josh Telfort and forward Harry Bates named to the first team, wings Jaymes Brown-Peterson, Ovie Agbigbe, and Roy Gardner named to the second team, and guard Jason Ward and forward Joel Brown were Honorable Mentions.

Josh Telfort, sophomore (Montreal, Quebec, Canada) – First Team All-Conference – In 30 games, Telfort averaged 13.8 PPG, 7.1 RPG, and 47.2 FG%. Having 20-plus points seven times, Telfort scored a season-high 23 points at Grayson College on Jan. 14.

Harry Bates, sophomore (Port MacQuarie, NSW, Australia) – First Team All-Conference – In 31 games, Bates averaged 11.4 PPG, 7.3 RPG, and 54.6 FG%. He scored a season-high 20 points twice: against Strength 'N Motion on Dec. 11 and at Grayson College on Jan. 14.

Jaymes Brown-Peterson, sophomore (Killeen, TX) – Second Team All-Conference – In 31games, Brown-Peterson averaged 11.6 PPG, 4.0 RPG, and 2.0 SPG. He scored 20-plus points five times, Brown-Peterson scored a season-high 22 points at Grayson College on Jan. 14.

Roy Gardner, sophomore (Leander, TX) – Second Team All-Conference – In 31 games, Gardner averaged 11.9 PPG, 5.1 RPG, and 46.1 FG%. Having scored 20-plus points three times, Gardner scored a season-high 31 points against Grayson College on Feb. 14.

Ovie Agbigbe, sophomore (Dallas, TX) – Honorable mention – In 31 games, Agbigbe averaged 8.8 PPG, 3.2 RPG, and 38.3 3FG%. A spark plug off the bench for the Leopards, Agbigbe scored 28 points against Coastal Bend College on Dec. 31.

Jason Ward, sophomore (Round Rock, TX) – Honorable Mention – In 20 games, Ward averaged 5.8 PPG, 4.2 RPG, and 4.1 APG. He scored a season-high 14 points twice: against Fort Hood on Nov. 1 and at Dallas College Brookhaven on Nov. 5.

Joel Brown, sophomore (Auckland, NZ) – Honorable Mention – In 28 games, Brown averaged 53 PPG, 3.3 RPG, and 36.4 3FG%. A key member of the TC reserve squad, Brown scored 14 points against Midland College on Dec. 4.
