The Temple College men's basketball team hosts the No. 18 McLennan Community College Highlanders at Kirby Johnson Court on Wednesday evening.

Tip-off time from Kirby Johnson Court is 7 pm.

Prior to the game, the program will host Sophomore Night. Josh Telfort, Jason Ward, Jonty Kells, Ovie Agbigbe, Jaymes Brown-Peterson, Joel Brown, Roy Gardner, and Harry Bates will be recognized for their contributions to Temple College Leopards basketball.

The Highlanders downed Temple 99-63 on Jan. 31 at The Highlands in Waco.

Amare Banks had 29 points and Timi Ibikunle added 20 points for MCC.

Telfort had 14 points, Bates added 12 points, and Gardner chipped in ten points for the Leopards.

­McLennan (27-1 overall, 13-0 NTJCAC) has clinched the top spot in the North Texas Junior College Athletic Conference, with Collin and Temple battling for second and third seeds, and Ranger and Weatherford battling for the fourth and final seed out of the NTJCAC.

In order to finish second, a Temple (18-11 overall, 9-4 NTJCAC) win on Wednesday and Collin loss Saturday at Grayson is needed. In the case of a second-place tie, Collin has the tiebreaker based on head-to-head wins.

The Region V Men's Basketball Playoffs start March 12 in Odessa.
