The Temple College men's basketball team finished their appearance at the Mark Adams Classic in Big Spring with a Friday contest against Western Texas College and Saturday matchup against No. 14 Howard College.
On Friday, the Leopards and Westerners played neck-and-neck throughout the game. However, WTC erased a four-point lead late and Anesu Dehwe hit a desperation three-pointer at the horn to give the Westerners an 82-80 win.
The Leopards shot 50% (31-of-62) from the floor, 7-of-21 from behind the three-point line and 11-of-15 (73.3%) from the free-throw line.
Six Leopards scored in double-figures, led by Esbjorn Reidhav with 13 points. Roy Gardner added 12 points, Josh Telfort and Harry Bates each had 11 points, and Jaymes Brown-Peterson and Byron Piper contributed ten points.
The Westerners shot 47.3% (26-of-55) from the floor, 11-of-24 from behind the three-point arc, and 19-of-36 (52.8%) from the charity stripe.
Justin McCall led all scorers for WTC with 22 points. Dewhe added 15 points, and Zayier Dean chipped in 13.
On Saturday, Howard jumped out to a big early lead and held off the Leopards, 93-60.
Daniel Culbertson and Terry Copeland each scored 20 points for Howard, as they shot 49.3% (34-of-69) from the field, 8-of-27 (29.6%) from beyond the arc, and 17-of-19 (89.5%) from the free-throw line.
Temple shot 30% (18-of-60) from the field, 7-of-24 (29.2%) from behind the arc, and 17-of-27 (63%) from the free-throw line.
Brown-Peterson led the Leopards with 16 points. Telfort added a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds.
The Leopards will host Strength 'N Motion Academy at Kirby Johnson Court Thursday afternoon at 2 pm.
