The Temple College men's basketball team hosted No. 24 Kilgore College in a non-conference matchup Wednesday evening at Kirby Johnson Court.
The Rangers broke open the game in the second half after the Leopards tied the game at 43-43 early in the second half as Kilgore defeated Temple, 76-61.
Kilgore and Temple played with five points of one another in the first half. The Rangers' biggest advantage was five, after the Leopards tied the game at four different points in the first 7:07.
The Rangers took a six-point lead early in the second half when the Leopards evened the score at 43-43 with 6-0 run.
Kilgore's 9-1 run over a two-minute span opened an eight-point lead for the Rangers, 51-44.
Temple was able to stay within seven points through the majority of the half before Kilgore closed the game on a 11-3 spurt.
Kendall Mitchell and Kaiden Myers led the Rangers with 13 points each. Lamarius White added nine points.
Josh Telfort led all scorers with 18 points for the Leopards. Jason Ward added nine points, and Roy Gardner chipped in eight points.
The Leopards will host Dallas College – North Lake at 4 pm on Saturday afternoon at Kirby Johnson Court.
