TC Baseball falls to Weatherford, ends season 31-24

The Temple College baseball team traveled to Weatherford on Saturday to attempt to keep their season live as they took on No. 20 Weatherford College at Roger Williams Ballpark.

Temple did their best to keep the Coyotes' aggressive offense at bay, but Weatherford was able to cull together the offense necessary to defeat the Leopards and clinch a Region V Playoff home series.

Scores of the doubleheader were 4-1 and 8-5.

Weatherford finished their regular season at 37-18 and 24-8 in North Texas Junior College Athletic Conference action. Temple finished their season at 31-24 overall and 17-15 in conference play.

Chase Fricke had a homer and an RBI to account for Temple's lone run in the opener. Wade Stallones and Kade Davis had the other two Temple hits in the opener.

Joseph McMurtry pitched six innings in the opening-game loss. He pitched six innings, allowed four runs on seven hits, struck out three and walked two.

The Leopards jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning of the second game and increased the advantage to 3-0 in the third.

Weatherford scored four times in the third to take the lead. The Coyotes added a run in the fifth, two in the seventh, and one in the eighth to lead 8-3.

Fricke homered and drove home two runs in the top of the ninth, but offense fell short.

Davis had two hits and two RBI to help the Temple offense. Davis pitched five innings, allowed five runs (four earned) on six hits, struck out four, and walked two.

Temple finished in fifth place, two games behind Hill for the final playoff spot. The Leopards improved by five wins in conference play over 2025 and were eight overall wins better than last season.
