With the season hanging in the balance for Temple College baseball, the Leopards will take on No. 25 Weatherford College in a Wednesday afternoon doubleheader at the Danny Scott Sports Complex.
The first game starts at 1:30 pm, with the second starting 30 minutes following the conclusion of game one.
In the 2025 chapter of the TC-Weatherford series, Temple took game won (12-1, six innings) with Weatherford taking the final three (9-1, seven innings, 10-2, seven innings, and 12-8.
Going into Wednesday, Grayson leads the conference at 23-5, followed by Weatherford (20-8), MCC (19-9), Hill (18-10), and Temple (17-11), with four games remaining and the top four teams qualifying for the Region V Tournament.
Temple won their series against MCC last week, 3-1. They swept the Highlanders at the Danny Scott Sports Complex on Wednesday (3-2 in seven innings and 4-3 in ten innings) and split at Bosque River Ballpark (MCC took game one, 6-4, while TC won game two, 5-3).
The Coyotes took three of four from NCTC, having swept the Lions in Weatherford (7-2 and 10-2) and split in Gainesville (Lions won game one, 6-5, while WC took game two, 7-3). Weatherford took on Tyler Junior College on Monday, with Jake Overstreet going 4-of-5 with two homers and eight RBI in a wild 21-16 win at Roger Williams Park. The Coyotes had 11 extra base hits and 18 total hits.
Temple (31-20 overall) is hitting .271 with a .381 on-base percentage, have hit 37 homers, 251 RBI, scored 275 runs, and have a team earned run average of 5.11 through 51 contests.
In 51 games, Weatherford (33-18 overall) is hitting .339 with an on-base percentage of .468, have hit 99 homers, drove in 458 runs, scored 486 times, and have a team earned run average of 5.72
The teams will complete their four-game series on Saturday with a doubleheader at Roger Williams Park in Weatherford.
