The Temple College baseball team will host No. 6 McLennan Community College Highlanders on Wednesday at noon in a pivotal North Texas Junior College Athletic Conference doubleheader with potential playoff ramifications.
In 47 games, the Leopards are hitting .271 with a .381 on-base percentage, have hit 36 homers, 236 RBI, scored 259 runs, and have a team earned run average of 5.26.
In 46 games, MCC is hitting .318 with an on-base percentage of .453, have hit 67 homers, drove in 348 runs, scored 385 times, and have a team earned run average of 4.41.
With eight games remaining, MCC (38-8 overall, 18-6 NTJCAC) is in second place, a game behind Grayson (19-5), a game in front of Weatherford (17-7), three in front of Hill (15-9) and four in front of Temple (28-19 overall, 14-10 NTJCAC).
The teams will complete their four-game series on Saturday with a doubleheader at Bosque River Ballpark.
