TC Baseball travels to Grayson for road doubleheader

The Temple College baseball team will travel to Denison on Friday to take on Grayson College in a doubleheader to conclude their North Texas Junior College Athletic Conference series.

Game one is slated for a noon first pitch, with the second game commencing 30 minutes after the completion of game one.

Temple (23-14 overall, 9-7 road, 9-5 NTJCAC) is coming off a doubleheader split on Wednesday. Temple won the opener, 6-2, while Grayson (20-13 overall, 14-4) rallied from five runs down to take game two, 10-9.

The Leopards are hitting .265 as a team with a .380 on-base percentage and .393 slugging percentage. TC has hit 22 homers, driven in 180 runs, scored 200 times on 266 hits, doubled 40 times, booked 11 triples, walked 162 times, and have stolen 53 bases.

Kade Davis (.421 BA, .529 OBP, four HR, 36 RBI, 27 walks, six triples). Wade Stallones (.319 BA, .456 OBP, 13 RBI, 20 walks), and Chase Fricke (.292 BA, .405 OBP, six HR, 33 RBI) are amongst the top offensive leaders for the Leopards.

The Vikings are hitting .357 with a .467 on-base percentage and .596 slugging percentage. Grayson has crushed 50 homers, driven in 272 runs, scored 302 times on 359 hits, 64 doubles, 13 triples, 178 walked and 64 stolen bases.

Blake Lewis (.473 BA, .523 OBP, seven HR, 37 RBI, 11 doubles, 13 SB), Easton Paxton (.396 BA, .504 OBP, five HR, 38 RBI, 16 SB), Colton Roquemore (.388 BA, .485 OBP, seven homers, 37 RBI), JT Cienega (.374 BA, .471 OBP, three HR, 24 RBI), Caleb Watkins (.350 BA, .449 OBP, 13 HR, 41 RBI, 11 walks, 10 HBP), and David Hogg II (.333 BA, .512 OBP, six HR, 32 RBI, 31 walks) are amongst the offensive leaders for the Vikings.

Temple has committed 40 errors on 1,109 total chances (.964 fielding percentage).

Grayson has a .947 fielding percentage, having committed 47 errors on 884 total chances.

The Leopards' staff earned run average 4.66 over the course of the season. In 256 2/3 innings pitched, TC has allowed 156 runs (133 earned) on 226 hits, struck out 260 hitters, walked 118, and hit 34 batters. Opponents hit .234 against the Leopards.

Joseph McMurtry (6-0, 1.35 ERA, 40 IP, six earned runs allowed, 23 hits, 56 strikeouts, 15 walks), Thomas Perez (3-1, 3.76 ERA, 38 1/3 IP, 16 earned runs, 38 hits, struck 36, walked 11), Peyton Reynolds (4-2, 5.03 ERA, 22 runs on 37 hits allowed in 39 1/3 innings, 34 strikeouts, 12 walks), and Kade Davis (3-3, 5.68 ERA, 35 strikeouts, 20 walks in 37 2/3 IP) are the primary starters for TC.

Grayson's staff ERA is 5.96 in 237 innings pitched. The Vikings have allowed 227 runs (157 earned) on 244 hits, struck out 247 batters, walked 184, and have hit 45 hitters.

Kai Parker (4-0, 5.29 ERA, 32 1/3 IP, 19 earned runs, 45 hits, 37 strikeouts, 12 walks) and Grant Origer (4-1, 5.68 ERA, 38 IP, 24 earned runs, 34 strikeouts, 29 walks) have carried much of the starting work for Grayson, with having solid depth in the bullpen.
