In a North Texas Junior College Athletic Conference softball doubleheader with playoff ramifications involved, No. 4 Temple College hits the road to take on No. 5 McLennan Community College Wednesday afternoon in Waco.
The first game at Bosque River Ballpark is slated for 1 pm, with game two to start 30 minutes after.
In 44 games, Temple is hitting .406 with an on-base percentage of .477, has hit 46 homers, driven in 354 runs, scored 397 runs, and have a staff earned run average of 2.27.
In 42 games, MCC is hitting .382 with an on-base percentage of .435, hit 27 homers, driven home 279 runs, scored 303 times, and have a staff earned run average of 3.08.
Temple (39-5 overall, 19-1 NTJCAC, 10 straight wins, won 27 of last 28) and MCC (35-7 overall, 19-1 NTJCAC, 8 straight wins, won 26 of last 27) have combined to win 53 of their last 55 games.
TC and MCC are at the top of the NTJCAC, followed by Grayson and Weatherford (14-6) who are tied for third place. Vernon and NCTC (10-14) are tied for fifth place, 11 games behind the TC-MCC grouping and six games behind the Grayson-Weatherford pair.
The Leopards and Highlanders will complete their series on Saturday with a doubleheader at the Danny Scott Sports Complex.
